Coffee Grounds: From Waste to Wonder
Our proprietary coffee-shell technology is at the heart of what makes Krisette & Co. unique. We partner with Toronto’s coffee shops to collect used coffee grounds that would otherwise contribute to greenhouse gas emissions in landfills. Through our innovative process, these grounds are transformed into the distinctive coffee shell finish that defines our furniture.
Environmental Benefits:
- Waste Diversion: Each coffee table we create diverts approximately 15-20 pounds of coffee grounds from landfills
- Carbon Footprint Reduction: By preventing coffee grounds from decomposing in landfills, we help reduce methane emissions & greenhouse gas 25 times more potent than CO2
- Circular Economy: We close the loop on coffee consumption, giving new life to materials that have already served their primary purpose
Reclaimed Wood & Materials
Beyond coffee grounds, we source offcut wood and other materials that would otherwise be discarded, ensuring every element of our furniture has a second chance at purpose.
