Caring for your Krisette & Co Bunn is made to heirloom quality standards. That being said, some simple maintenance will preserve its beauty and extend its lifespan. Here’s a guide on how to care for your furniture:

1. Regular Dusting: Dust your wooden furniture regularly using a soft, lint-free cloth or microfiber duster. This prevents dust from building up and scratching the surface over time.
2. Polishing (optional): If you would like a higher gloss polish on your furniture, you can apply a high-quality bees wax every few months to enhance the wood and reclaimed coffee's natural luster and provide a protective layer against moisture and dust. Use a soft cloth to apply the polish in the direction of the wood grain, and in small circular strokes and then buff it to a shine.
3. Temperature and Humidity Control: All wood is sensitive to temperature and humidity changes, which can cause it to expand, contract, or crack. Keep furniture in a stable environment, away from heating vents or air conditioning units. Using a humidifier or dehumidifier can help maintain a consistent indoor climate.
4. Avoid Scratches and Damage: Use coasters, placemats, and felt pads under objects to prevent scratches, stains, and heat damage. Be mindful when placing heavy or sharp objects on wooden surfaces. Lift objects instead of dragging them across the furniture.

Yes! There is a slight smell of coffee from Bunn furniture. We don't think the smell is overpowering, but if you lean in and give our products a good whiff, you will be able to smell the bean!

If you love the idea of our furniture, but have a particular sensitive nose, or are concerned about damaging the surface, you can also write to us, and we can add an extra layer of lacquer to your coffee shell. This will further protect the surface, and reduce the coffee bean scent.

Why divert used coffee and wood offcuts? 

When organic materials like coffee grinds decompose in landfills, they produce methane, a potent greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change. By redirecting these materials for permanent reuse, we can turn waste into valuable resources. This not only minimizes landfill waste but also promotes a circular economy where resources are reused and recycled, contributing to a more sustainable environment.

The Bunn coffee shell has a a layer of clear, high quality lacquer on top. When you run your hand over it, it is smooth, with just a bit of texture. The finish is similar to the texture of polished concrete.

Krisette & Co is committed to making sustainable, heirloom quality furniture and designed objects. We use only reclaimed wood and other materials in our product, you can expect that the table top will be using short grain.
